Susan G. Komen® North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Awards More Than $540,000 in Community Health Grants to 13 Local Organizations

RALEIGH, NC (May 2, 2016) – Susan G. Komen® North Carolina Triangle to the Coast (Komen NCTC) has awarded a total of $542,742 for 13 grants to local nonprofits to support breast health services and education projects for the under-served, under-insured and uninsured populations in a 29-county service area.

“Our Community Health Grants provide necessary resources for screening and diagnostic mammograms, education, support services and treatment support,” said Pam Kohl, Komen NCTC executive director. “Money raised at our annual Komen Wilmington Race for the Cure® and Komen Triangle Race for the Cure® events allows our communities to provide these services to those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.”
