Komen NCTC is the local source for funding breast cancer detection, support and educational awareness in Central and Eastern North Carolina. Through its 2018-2019 community grants, Komen NCTC is investing $350,000 in education, diagnosis, treatment and support programs that serve uninsured or underinsured residents in our 29 county service. Since it was founded in 1997, Komen NCTC has invested more than $14.5 million in local breast health agencies and organizations while contributing $4,978,461 to Komen’s national research grants program. This year alone The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University received over $1.3 Million in research funding to find the cures.
Komen NCTC grants 75 percent of net funds to community programs in our service area that have made a positive difference in the lives of those living with this deadly disease.
The remaining 25 percent of net funds are invested in the Susan G. Komen National Grant Program. To learn more about Komen’s research investment, click here.
