Triangle Race for the Cure Goes Virtual with a Scavenger Hunt, Facebook Live and more

[RALEIGH, NC] – [August 19, 2020] – Susan G. Komen® NC Triangle to the Coast today announced the pre-event activities and virtual ‘Race Where You Are’ event experience for its 24th Annual Komen Triangle Race locally presented by Duke Cancer Institute for the Cure on September 12, 2020.

“As an organization dedicated to saving lives, it is so important to protect the health of our participants, many of whom are breast cancer survivors or are currently in treatment for the disease. Therefore, we will be leveraging technology this year to ensure we can race together – even if we can’t be together – because breast cancer is not canceled,” said Krista Park Berry, executive director at Komen NC Triangle to the Coast.

The Annual Triangle Race for the Cure serves two important purposes – it is a critical fundraiser that fuels Komen’s breast cancer research and patient support efforts, and it provides all those touched by breast cancer the opportunity to become a part of a compassionate community committed to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

There is no fee to register for the virtual fundraising event this year or to access the online fundraising tools. To register, visit https://komennctc.org/Race or call (919) 493-2873 for assistance.

“As we race where we are, we believe we can preserve the sense of community through this new virtual fundraising race experience,” shared Park Berry. “An added benefit of this new virtual platform is increased accessibility. People who were not able to attend in-person previously due to their health or scheduling conflicts will now be able to participate. We invite all to be a part of our community of hope.”
