“Thank you for posting about the MBC support group. I got so much out of it last night. I’d been avoiding going because I was afraid that either I’d be inundated with stats or it would be depressing. It was the opposite, so so uplifting and made me feel even less alone.” – Beth B.
Thriving Together Goes Virtual
Special Announcement | COVID-19
After much discussion and as a precautionary measure due to Covid-19 (Novel Coronavirus), Komen NCTC’s Thriving Together Support Group will GO VIRTUAL. We will be utilizing Zoom Meetings as we believe this is an accessible option for all. Zoom Meetings for desktop and mobile enables meeting participants to join by phone, video or both.
Our priority is always the health and safety of our patient advocates as well as other attendees. We will continue to follow the recommendations of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and will proceed with virtual meetings as long as necessary. We ask for your patience and adaptability during this difficult time.

Meet the Facilitator
Katrina had her world turned upside down at just 36 years old. A divorced mom with 2 boys and facing a devastating Metastatic Breast Cancer diagnosis. While fighting for her life her sense of loneliness, even when surrounded by loved ones, was almost as devastating as the diagnosis itself. Making sure others facing this diagnosis do not have to feel so alone is a passion of hers. Katrina is a graduate of Guilford College with a BA in Psychology, American Cancer Society trained Peer Mentor and SHARE trained Peer Group Facilitator. She uses her platform as a speaker, peer mentor, and advocate with the hope that she can make a difference in as many lives as possible.
